Kyrie Irving Contract with Brooklyn Nearing its End? Here is why Kyrie Irving Trade Request from Nets before NBA Deadline.
Reports indicate that Kyrie Irving has expressed his desire to leave the Brooklyn Nets before the NBA trade deadline.
Kyrie Irving Trade
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Irving, aged 30, is eager to depart from the Brooklyn Nets before the Feb. 9 trade deadline, otherwise he will exit through free agency in July.
Despite the recent rumors of trade, there were also reports that Irving was searching for a long-term contract extension with the Brooklyn Nets. However, his agent and stepmother, Shetellia Riley Irving, informed Bleacher Report’s Chris Haynes that no significant discussions about an extension have taken place.
The possibility of trading Irving is uncertain at this time. He is in the final year of a four-year contract worth over $136 million that he signed with the Brooklyn Nets after leaving the Boston Celtics as a free agent in July, 2019.
The magnitude of his wage might make it challenging to execute a trade within the restrictions of the NBA’s salary cap.

During the course of the season, Irving faced an eight-game suspension for sharing a documentary that contained antisemitic content. After expressing multiple apologies, he returned to the court.
