Is LTTE leader Alive?
On Monday, the leader of the Tamil Nationalist Movement, Pazha Nedumaran, claimed that the head of the banned Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE), Velupillai Prabhakaran, was “healthy and well” and would soon “reveal a plan for Tamil race liberation.”
Nedumaran spoke at a press conference in Thanjavur and cited the changing global situation and Sri Lanka’s political crisis, including the removal of the Rajapaksa government, as having given the LTTE leader a new lease on life and encouraged him to come out of hiding.
As the Tamil President of the World Tamil Federation, Nedumaran also stated that it was time to put to rest “rumours” about the death of the Tamil Nationalist leader, Prabhakaran, also known as “Thamizh Desiya Thalaivar.”
How is the health of LTTE leader Velupillai Prabhakaran?
LTTE chief Velupillai Prabhakaran is ‘healthy and fine’.According to Nedumaran, “Prabhakaran will soon announce a plan for the liberation of the Tamil race, and he calls for the support of all Tamils worldwide.”
Nedumaran revealed information about LTTE leader Velupillai Prabhakaran’s health, stating that he was in good health and dispelling any doubts about his condition. He emphasized that all Tamil people should know that Prabhakaran is healthy and fine.
The creation of Tamil Eelam, an independent state in the north and east of Sri Lanka, is an aspiration of many Sri Lankan Tamils and the Tamil diaspora.
He urged the Indian government to take action to prevent China from consolidating its presence in Sri Lanka, citing the country’s investment schemes and portrayal of India as an enemy of Sri Lanka as evidence of China’s expanding influence in the region.
Nedumaran pointed out that during the LTTE’s time of strength, they never allowed any country opposed to India to enter Sri Lanka.
Nedumaran emphasized that the LTTE never asked for support from countries against India and fought against their involvement. He also stated that China’s presence in Sri Lanka was an attempt to depict India as an enemy.
Nedumaran expressed his concern about China’s expanding influence in the Indian Ocean.
He called on the Indian government to take necessary measures to counter China’s growing presence.
Pazha Nedumaran urges support for LTTE Prabhakaran
Nedumaran called for unity among the Tamil Nadu government, Tamil politicians, and the people of Tamil Eelam to support Prabhakaran during these critical times.
Nedumaran revealed that he had not spoken directly to LTTE Prabhakaran, but had received information from Prabhakaran’s family members, which he was sharing with their approval.
When asked how the Sri Lankan government-declared deceased LTTE leader managed to survive, Nedumaran responded by saying that everyone, including himself, is curious about his whereabouts. He added that Prabhakaran would soon make his appearance, and the world would learn more about the situation.

Sri Lanka’s government killed LTTE leader Prabakaran in 2009. Prabakaran was killed on May 18, 2009, in Mullaivaikkal in the northern Mullaithivu district of Sri Lanka.
