Sam Smith and Kim Petras raised the bar with their latest performance on “Saturday Night Live”. The duo, fresh off their Grammy win for best pop duo/group performance, delivered a visually stunning, horror movie-inspired rendition of their hit song “Unholy“.
Smith kicked off the performance decked out in red leather, surrounded by a group of dancers reminiscent of Samara from “The Ring”. The scene then shifted to Petras dancing in a cage, guarded by dominatrices sporting demonic headpieces.
Smith added to the ominous atmosphere with a devilish top hat as the stage was set ablaze with huge flames. Petras delivered an impassioned speech earlier in the evening after their Grammy win.

Petras took the stage to accept the award on behalf of the duo and made a powerful statement, “Sam kindly offered for me to accept this award, being the first transgender woman to receive it,” she said, eliciting cheers and a standing ovation from many musicians in attendance.
“I want to express my gratitude to all of the amazing transgender pioneers who paved the way for me to be here tonight. A special shoutout to my dear friend Sophie who passed away two years ago, who predicted this moment and always believed in me. Your inspiration will always be a part of my music, thank you and I love you.”
