Vaathi Box-Office Collection

Dhanush stars as a professor fighting to reform the education system in his Tamil-Telugu bilingual film Vaathi. Here is Vaathi Box-Office Collection and performance worldwide.

Actor Dhanush’s latest film, Vaathi, has grossed over ₹100 crores globally as it performs well in theatres. The Tamil-Telugu bilingual, directed by Venky Atluri, follows the story of a professor who implemented innovative teaching methods to change the education system of the 1990s. Dhanush’s performance has been praised by critics, although some have noted the need for stronger supporting characters in the film.

Vaathi, also known as SIR in Telugu, was released simultaneously in both languages. The production team celebrated the film’s success on Twitter with an official poster announcing its entry into the ₹100 crore club. Dhanush also shared the poster on his own Twitter account with folded hands emojis.

Dhanush’s Vaathi has become his second consecutive film to cross the ₹100 crore mark at the box office after last year’s Thiruchitrambalam. His previous Tamil movie, Asuran, directed by Vetrimaaran, also grossed over ₹100 crores during its theatrical run.

Directed by Venky Atluri, Vaathi features music by G.V Prakash Kumar and stars Samyuktha and Samuthirakani in important roles. In a pre-release press interaction, Atluri mentioned that certain events from his own life inspired him to make the movie. He said, “I finished my class in 12th around 1998.

That’s when the private schools were flourishing and slowly taking over the government schools. It had become a big issue back then and even got the government involved to sort it out. Some of these events inspired me to make Vaathi.” The movie focuses on privatising the education system and how one man fought against it.

Actor Dhanush is working on his upcoming Tamil movie, “Captain Miller”, directed by Arun Matheswaran. His current appearance, featuring long hair, is for his role in the film.

In September last year, Dhanush shared a photo from the “Captain Miller” set. The picture shows him with a long hairstyle, thick beard, moustache, and sunglasses. He is standing near the water, slightly turning around to face the camera.
